Ireland, Theatre and Seasonal Happenings

IMG_0617Hey all; greetings from Galway! This is the first of what I hope to be monthly (or more frequent? Maybe??) updates put up on this site. I’m looking to share shows I’m working on, shows I’ve seen, and other projects and events going on. I don’t imagine a terrible amount of people will be looking at it, but it’s a good way to share my thoughts either way, I think!

Anyhow, as for actual updates, I’m in Ireland! Well, if you couldn’t tell. Or didn’t already know. Basically, I’m here doing my MA in Drama and Theatre Studies, trying to expand my ability to tell stories as well as benefit my resumé. The program ends in August 2020, but those of you back home, don’t expect to be completely rid of me! I’ll be back around periodically from time to time.

Which brings me to my next update: December! Specifically, I’ll be back home (in Maryland/Virginia/West Virginia/etc.) on the 3rd through the 10th of January. Now, I have a lot to get done in that time BUT! I have some specific things I’d like to share. Actually, one specific thing. And that is:

A New Play! That’s right, I’m coming home for a month from my Drama and Theatre program to do, you guessed it! More Drama and Theatre!!! Woooo~~

Anyway, details are scarce, but for the last couple months I’ve been writing a play currently titled If Only; Last Words. It started as an exercise for the playwrighting module I’m in this semester, but has expanded to be something that I’m pretty excited about! So, in addition to being turned in for a grade at the semester, I’ve managed to get pretty much a full production team and most of a cast together to put it on over break! I don’t have dates, names, or visuals yet; BUT, as soon as I get home and can get details confirmed, I will post it all with a graphic and everything! Like a proper production!

In the end, I’m looking forward to break and a chance to actually make theatre. However, I wanted to note before I closed this out that I am immensely enjoying my time here and absolutely love the people I’ve met! This is a great program and a great experience and I couldn’t be happier to be doing it!
